Well, looks like nobody likes me. :-(

I'm just kidding. :-)

My blog is relatively new so of course I'm not expecting comments out the gate but with that being said hopefully I can get some feedback asap if not I'm going to be PISSED! ;-) I wouldn't go that far but I would like to see something posted on the site. I would like to know exactly what type of content is needed and which isn't so that's the main reason why I'm asking for comments.

Today hasn't even gotten started yet for most people and I'm already up and ready to go. I'm running on four hours of sleep but I'm used to it though. I've been waking up early since my freshman year at high school so it's really no big deal to me.

My day started at 2am. Kaylen didn't want to go to sleep and I had to stay up with her. Currently she's resting and relaxing now so that's why I'm doing as much as I can possibly do to my site.

I managed to find more coins to go into my future savings account.I'm hoping to open it up either next month or in early September. So far, I found $2.75 in coins downstairs (in addition to the $10 that I found yesterday in my change purse).This currently brings my total to $12.75 in just two days. :-)

I think saving is important especially if you're young, retired, a single mother/father or just an overall cautious about your financial situation in the future. I think people spent too much time trying to "keep up with the Joneses" instead of being content with themselves. Think about it, if people were then the "Me" generation (tweens/teens/young adults)wouldn't be influenced by My Super Sweet 16, MTV Cribs, Laguna Beach(notice the trend yet), athletes, and celebrities in general.

Tip #1: Never buy what you might not have use for in a year.

Basically you have to identify what's the difference between a need and a want. A need is something that you must have. Read this again, something that you must have. A want is something that you desire to have.

Need: I have a job interview coming up and I've bleach, sewed and plastered my Fila's until they at least look fit to wear. I've done all that I can do to them to make them at least look presentable. I definitely need a new pair of shoes.
Want: Even though I have 1000 dvds, 250 CD's, and more than 50 video games, I'm getting bored with my new XBox 360. After all, the new PS3 is coming out soon and I really want to get this.

Here are my examples of what not to buy (unless deemed necessary):

The latest video game consoles/games.
Plasma television sets
DVDs/CDs/VHS tapes.
Disposable items (paper plates, cups, silverware,etc.)
Fast Food
Junk Food
Latest clothes and handbags
Digital cable boxes/Internet
Cell phones
Bath and body products
Daycare
Anything breaded(donuts, croissants, etc)
Anything in cans or disposable containers(such as pop, lattes,etc.)

Anyway, I hope these tips are helpful to all of you. I know I might have missed a few so stop by and drop me a comment or two of what I didn't cover. If you don't want your name listed on my site (although I don't know why you wouldn't ;-) then you can always do the anonymous post. Don't be scared though. I really would appreciate any and all feedback, positive and negative included.

Well, if by some sort of luck that you happened to stroll across my blog I just wanted to say, WELCOME!

I am so glad to finally be apart of the blogging community. Since I love to write & love to talk about different things, I decided to create one.

Let me introduce myself, My name is Jessica and I'm from Flint, Michigan. Better known as the "First lady" of Flint. Some people say this as a form of sarcasm but I wear this label with pride.

Anyway, the main reason that I made this blog was to inform and enhance everyone's knowledge about being as frugal as they possibly can be.

Frugality (also known as thrift or thriftiness), often confused with cheapness, is a traditional value, life style, or belief system, in which individuals practice both restraint in the acquiring of and resourceful use of economic goods and services in order to achieve lasting and more fulfilling goals. In a money-based economy, frugality emphasizes economical use of money in meeting long term personal, familial, and communal desires.

To summarize, being frugal basically means making the most of what you have and sticking to what's affordable to you.

My blog will also contain tips on how to look for the best deals on and off the internet, tips on how to save money, tips on how to find the best mystery shopping, focus groups, and survey sites & overall not having to spend a whole lot for anything!
